Verdal Longue
This medium sized fig is common in the south of France. It has a yellowish-green skin with a striking deep red interior.
Verdal Longue is fruity and sweet. We think it has a flavor similar to the Col de Dames/Coll de Damas including the hints of citrus however it is less firm and has a thinner skin. It's a single crop fig and it's a very productive fig. This is a smaller, more bushy and wild growing fig compared to the Col de Dames/Coll de Damas which grow tall and large. We start getting ripe figs in mid-October and they continue to produce until the end of the season here in zone 7a New Jersey.
Give this very desirable, top tasting and producing fig that does best in full sun and heat.
