Some of Our Phalaenopsis Are In Bloom

We grow these under florescent lights on shelves in the  basement. Phalaenopsos are very easy to grow and require very little maintenance. We water them once a week. Every 4-6 weeks we add a very small amount of fertilizer to the water. They grow in plastic orchid pots filled with Douglas fir bark chunks.

Excellent Meal From the Garden

This evening we had a fresh arugula and lettuce salad from the garden made with with olive oil and parmasian cheese. A home grown Rutgers tomato puree made last fall was used to used to make the delicious sauce served with home made Italian sausage and ziti.

Fig cams !

It's very interesting to see all of the wildlife activity in the yard with our fig cams. Birds, cats, squirrels  etc. At night its very spooky especially when it's raining. Boo!

Nursery Inspection Today

Jessica the Horticulturist from The New Jersey Department of Agriculture inspected our stock today. "Plants look great!" she said in her report. We can ship to most states in the US. Send us an email if you have any questions.

First Planting this Season

We have Rototilled the garden and this week we will plant mesculin and Buttercrunch Bibb lettuce seeds. Burpee has a great selection. We really look forward to this each year.

When we have some ready for the table we will show a simple but extraordinary salad recipe that lets the fresh lettuce stand out.
